Nigerian legend Mudashiru Babatunde worked as an automobile mechanic before his football talents were discovered, and made his national team debut in 1975 and won 86 caps with 12 goals for the national team, The same year, he joined Shooting Stars F.C. of Ibadan

Muda Lawal inspired Nigeria to their first AFCON title in 1980 and was the first player to appear in 5 successive editions of the competition.

Th governing body of world football FIFA has remembered the legend and is celebrating the legend that put the Nigerian flag high.

Lawal played his last international match on August 18, 1985, when the super Eagles lost to Zambia in the 1986 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
