Felix Magath puts Marc Cucurella forward for Ballon d’Or

Former German manager Felix Magath has backed Real Madrid and Spain defender Marc Cucurella to win the Ballon d’Or.

The 73-year-old chose Cucurella when asked which player should receive football’s most prestigious individual award.

The Ballon d’Or will be presented on Monday, 26 October. Cucurella is among the 30 nominees, although he is not considered one of the leading contenders for the prize.
