The Falconets booked their place in the last qualifying round after defeating Senegal 3–1 on aggregate. Malawi also advanced after edging Guinea-Bissau, setting up a high-stakes two-legged encounter for a spot at the global tournament.

A top official of the Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that the team’s training camp will reopen in the first week of April to ensure sufficient preparation time before the crucial fixtures.

“The Falconets should resume camping in the first week of April as the first leg is scheduled for the first week of May,” the official told BSN Sports.

Coached by Moses Aduku, Nigeria will host the first leg at a yet-to-be-announced venue between May 1 and 3, 2026. The return leg is scheduled to take place in Blantyre, Malawi, between May 8 and 10, 2026.

The winner on aggregate will secure qualification for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, with both nations aiming to clinch one of Africa’s coveted tickets to the tournament.

With early camping planned, Nigeria will rely on structured preparation and home advantage as they aim to maintain their strong pedigree in continental youth women’s football.
