Ezenwa Ends Speculation Over Future, Joins Kastina United

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, has ended speculations over his future by linking up with Nigeria Professional Football League outfit, Katsina United.

Ezenwa became a free agent following the expiration of his one-year contract with the two-time African champions, Enyimba at the end of last season.

He was close to linking up with Katsina United few weeks ago but the move hit the brickwall over his demand for a staggering N700,000-a-month salary

Ezenwa completed his medicals on Thursday and has signed a contract with the Changi Boys ahead of the new season

“We will have the boost of @SuperEagles_ goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa in the forthcoming season as the former @SunshineFCAkure star signed the dotted lines for @fckatsinaunited after passing medicals,” reads a tweet on Katsina United official Twitter handle on Thursday.

He will compete with former Golden Eaglets goalkeeper, Dami Paul, Niger international Kassaly Dauda and Yinka David for the club’s number one position.

Ezenwa has featured for clubs like defunct Ocean Boys, Sunshine Stars and FC IfeanyiUbah in the NPFL.

He was part of Super Eagles team to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia as well as the home-based Super Eagles team that came second at the 2018 Africa Nations Championship early this year in Morocco
