The Nigeria U23 team who are currently in camp preparing for their Africa U23 Cup of Nations Qualifiers game against Libya will be without the services of at least six players who were invited by coach Imama Amapakabo, according to Owngoalnigeria.com

Coach Imama called up 30 home based players to camp ahead of the tie against Libya this month but some of the players were made to leave the camp by the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) due to documentation issues bordering on their age.

For instance a particular player didn’t even train with the team with the NFF asking him to stay behind after it was discovered that he has a date of birth with CAF showing he is 27 years old when he played in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Another who was bill as an integral player was released after few days of training with documents and several online sources pointing to the fact that he has been playing in the Nigeria Professional Football League since 2010

Despite the set back, the technical crew of the team is still busy fine tuning preparations for the game against Libya with a list of foreign based players who will team up with the squad expected to be released later this week.
