Ex-Hearts supporters’ organizer Mohammed Alhassan claims the club is spiritually weak and has urged leadership to consult 'shrines' to turn around their downward spiral in the Ghanaian top-flight.
The longest-serving National Chapters Committee organizer wants the club to adopt a more mystical approach than the scientific way of helping the club to achieve honours.
Alhassan made the bold claim on Accra-based Asempa FM that the club will continue to struggle if it does not seek spiritual help to turn around their dwindling fortunes.
Hearts are sinking gradually with their latest results causing massive disquiet among their teeming followers.
The club has not won any major silverware for more than six years with their continental brand going down sadly without an end in sight.
Former management member Aziz Haruna Futah is leading a movement to mobilize funds to pay off current owner and board chairman Togbe Afede XIV whom he accuses of running down the club.
Alhassan has backed the claims of Futah and says the club must revisit shrines to turn things around.
“When was the last time Hearts won a league title or cup?,” he lamented on Asempa FM
“The club is spiritually weak. In the past we visited shrines irrespective of our religious beliefs and that went a long way to help the club.
“There are many people who did many things for this club you have no idea of. We have slept in shrines, beaches and many frightening places just to see the club succeed.
‘We must go back and look at our spiritual warfare. We need to do that immediately if not things could get worse.
“Spirituality is part of the game and the earlier we do something about it, the better.”
