Ex-Ghana star and SuperSport pundit Sammy Kuffuor joins campaign to oust NPP Minority Leader
Former Ghanaian international footballer, Samuel Osei Kuffuor has joined the campaign to oust the New Patriotic Party’s Minority Leader, Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu from his Suame constituency seat.
Speaking on Supersports last Saturday after the Barcelona-Juventus Champions League final match, Osei Kuffour used his opportunity on the international television station to campaign for his uncle, Kwadwo Boateng Genfi.
Mr Kwadwo Boateng Genfi, aka Boat is contesting the Minority Leader, who has been representing the people of Suame in Parliament since 1996.
The NPP is organising its Parliamentary primaries on June 13, 2016 to select candidates for the 2016 elections.
Osei Kuffuor who has been a regular panelist on Supersport and nicknamed the “Octopus” for his usual predictions had earlier predicted that Barcelona of Spain would defeat Juventus 3-1 to lift the 2014/15 European Champions League trophy in Berlin, Germany.
Kuffuor, who without doubt was on cloud nine after his correct prediction, temporarily shifted from sports and zoomed into full time NPP politics, the Daily Guide newspaper reported on Monday.
Beaming with smiles, the ex-Ghana defender stated that Boat was certainly going to emerge victorious in the NPP elections at Suame on Saturday.
Kuffuor stated that he was happy that Barcelona had won the European Champions League just as he had predicted, the newspaper reported.
Still in the prediction mood, he stressed that “My uncle Boat is contesting in an election in my home country Ghana, and I know he will win.”
