Evra given seven-month ban by Uefa for kicking own supporter

Marseille defender Patrice Evra has been banned from matches in Uefa competitions for seven months for kicking one of his own supporters before a Europa League match.

The former Manchester United full-back is banned until June 2018 and will miss Marseille's last two group games and the knockout stage if they progress.

He was fined 10,000 euros (£8,829).

Evra, 36, aimed a kick at a fan next to the pitch before the match against Vitoria Guimaraes on 2 November.
