Nigeria Professional Football League champions Enyimba are currently in transit in Casablanca, Morocco on their way to Tunisia for their CAF Champions League clash against Etoile du Sahel,
Enyimba sounded confident as a team of 18 players left Nigeria early Sunday morning aboard a Royal Air Maroc flight and are currently at the Atlas Hotel.
The Aba Elephant face Etoile du Sahel at the Olympic Stadium in the Tunisian city of Sousse in the second leg of their second round clash on Tuesday and the Chairman of Enyimba Chief Anyansi Agu has assured that the team are in high spirits and have no injury worries.
“The match in Sousse will be extremely tough,” Anyansi said.
“But I’m confident that Enyimba will qualify for the group stage of the 2016 CAF Champions League.”
Also forward Abu Azeez told Completesportsnigeria.com that the Aba Elephant are condemned to qualify for the group stages of the competition
“We must qualify to be in the group stage and therefore we are going to fight for it in Sousse. This is the Champions League, if you want to go far you must overcome small and big teams,” Azeez said in a chat with Completesportsnigeria.com
“It is just for us as a team to work together and play with determination. If we are determined, Etoile can’t stop us.”
In the first leg played a fortnight ago at the Adokiye Amasiemaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Enyimba earned a resounding 3-0 win with Mfon Udoh scoring a hattrick.
