Zamalek are trying to shore up their team with another foreign player after they axed their Burkina Faso player Abdoulaye Cisse before the start of this season.

Sources in Zamalek revealed to supersport.com that the team's assistant coach Samy Shesheny was in Senegal for the recently concluded Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations to scout new players.

The same sources said that Zamalek have a shortlist of players and Etebo is number one on the pile of their targets.

Zamalek were in negotiations with Algeria under-23 player Oussama Darfalou before they dumped the idea of luring him away from USM Alger.

The Egyptian Premier League title-holders already have two foreign players in Maarouf Yousef from Nigeria and Mohamed Koffi from Burkina Faso.
