Westerlo raced into a two-goal lead inside the opening 11 minutes, with Dylan Ourega opening the scoring in the seventh minute before Genk defender Matte Smets turned the ball into his own net four minutes later.

Durosinmi gave Genk hope three minutes before half-time when he calmly converted a penalty to reduce the deficit. Bryan Heynen then completed the comeback before the interval, restoring parity in the 43rd minute to send the teams into the break level at 2-2.

The Nigerian striker was substituted in the 66th minute, with Aaron Bibout taking his place.
