The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, has stated that he is not aware of any resignation by Super Eagles coach, Finidi George.
This comes despite reports that Finidi has stepped down from his position following the NFF's announcement to appoint an "expatriate technical adviser" for the team.
The Eagles have had a dismal performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifying series, with only three points from four matches, leading to calls for Finidi's resignation and that of the NFF board members.
However, Nigeria’s news hub, The Punch have through their correspondent contacted Gusau who responded that he was "not yet aware" of any resignation by Finidi.
The development leaves the status of Finidi's position uncertain, amidst the turmoil surrounding the Super Eagles' performance.
