DI FRANCESCO: "WE'VE IMPROVED"

Published on: 18 January 2019

Coach Eusebio Di Francesco faced the media on Friday afternoon to preview Roma's return to Serie A TIM action against Torino on Saturday. “I think we've improved but we've often done that and then lost form again this season. I hope it won't happen anymore. I see our team spirit has improved.”

About the injuries the Giallorossi's coach said: "Manolas will almost certainly make this game. He's trained with the team the last three days and assuming he comes through training ok today he'll be available. Florenzi hasn't fully recovered from flu yet and I have to decide today whether or not to include him in the squad. Mirante, De Rossi, Perotti and Juan Jesus aren't available for tomorrow's game. As for Nzonzi, he'll train with the squad today for the first time since his foot injury and I'll need to assess him.”

The coach spoke also about Mazzarri's Torino: "I know all about Walter and what he's like as a coach. We've faced each other several times. I know what sort of approach he takes and what his teams are like: he prepares for matches in great detail and his sides are well drilled defensively. Torino are a good team and they've shown that with their away record this year, although they've found it harder to impose their game at home. They're very dangerous on the break and  they're one of the teams that have won the ball back most often in the opposition half.”

About Schick's improvement he said. “First of all, Schick deserves all the credit for it. He's kept working away and kept improving in training. I'm not completely satisfied yet, though. He knows he can do better and mustn't rest on his laurels. He has to score as many goals as he can.”
