Ghana international defender Daniel Amartey scored his second league goal of the season for FC Copenhagen as they defeated Esbjerg 2-1 in the Danish Superliga on Sunday afternoon.

The 20-year-old versatile defender who was playing in a holding midfield role for the game pecked the scoring for Copenhagen who had conceded an own-goal.

Norwegian international Tom Høgli had scored an own-goal in the 27th minute to put Copenhagen down and they were unable to equalise until midway through the second-half when Amartey struck the leveller before Nicolai Jørgensen netted the winner 2 minutes from time.

This is the second league goal of the season for Copenhagen after scoring his first goal against Brøndby in early March.

Amartey is on his first season with Copenhagen and scored three times in Uefa competitions - including Uefa Champions League and Europa League games.
