In a press conference following the first leg of LigaMX final that saw his team emerge victorious, Cruz Azul manager Juan Reynoso was careful but mildly optimistic:
"We still have to play two 45-minute matches, our fans will come and cheer for us, it is up to us to play a smart match; there will definitely be some small changes but we arrive at this match without any significant injuries and everybody in the squad is eager to contribute. The starting point for the first leg was the humble realization that they (Santos) are a very strong side at home, they'll roll over you by applying constant pressure if you are not careful. Thankfully the boys understood this and showed me great character. Now we control our own destiny"
