Controversial ex-Hearts coach Polo fires latest salvo, labels players 'disgrace' ahead of Liberty crunch tie
Controversial ex-Hearts coach Mohammed Polo has launched his latest tirade at the players, describing them as ‘disgrace’ to the African giants.
Hearts have shipped into the relegation dog-fight with five games left to play to end the season.
They were beaten 2-1 by their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday to heap the pressure on the team ahead of the remaining games.
Polo, who has been firing attack from all cylinders since his ill-fated departure at the club, has turned his gun on the playing body.
The former Ghana international has rubbished the quality of the current crop of players, labeling them as ‘disgrace’ to the club.
"It looks as if things have taken a very bad turn and the players are not pulling their weight. They are not fit and they always attribute their losses to others, that it was because of this or that.” he said
"It's a disgraceful thing for a player of Hearts to find himself in such a situation or position. I think it is a disgrace to you as a player because Hearts and Kotoko are not small teams that you have to carry to that level.
He warned the players will he held liable if they are relegated.
"The players have to lift their game and know that Hearts are not small. If they are those that will take Hearts into relegation then it’s a disgrace to them as footballers. They have to ensure that they escape relegation because Hearts fans will never forgive them if that disaster ever happens.”
