Congolese FA calls On CAF for stadium approval ahead of match with Rivers United and other teams

The Congolese Federation of Football Association( FECOFA) has called on CAF for approval for its stadium in Lubumbashi as it gets set for the Confederation Cup games against Rivers United.

The Frédéric Kibasa-Maliba stadium is the stadium the FA seeks approval for as that is where Congolese representatives in the Confederation Cup, Ei Lupopo and Motema Pembe both will be using for their matches this year.

According to report, the CAF inspection team was in Congo on a pre-inspection visit on December 22nd, 2022 and another visit is expected in due course to give final approval.

Hence, the Congolese Federation of Football Association has written to CAF requesting it presence to inspect the stadium this month of January 2023.

"We have the advantage of requesting today an independent inspection visit no later than January 06, 2023, to assess the current state of the stadium at the end of the rehabilitation works carried out by the Province of Haut Katanga to obtain approval for CAF matches and competitions,” part of the statement said.
