Confluence Queens Football Club of Lokoja on Wednesday 24th April ended the Nigeria Women Football League regular season with 25pts to finished 2nd in group A as the team alongside Nasarawa Amazons and Heartland Queens picked the available ticket to this year's NWFL Super Six with date and venue yet to be announced, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Hon. Commissioner for Youth & Sports Hon Monday Anyebe was fully on ground to cheer the team to victory.
While addressing the girls before the last home match against Nasarawa Amazons, the Hon Commissioner urged the girls to continue giving their best and promised the government is ready to improve on their welfare.
The game between Confluence Queens and Nasarawa Amazons ended goalless to see the Lokoja based side finished second behind rivals Nasarawa Amazons
Team Manager Mrs Olorunleke Ojo who spoke on behalf of the team praised the chairman Hon. Abdulmalik Isah for his efforts and also thanked the commissioner for his supports.
"First of all, I want to use this medium to thank our chairman for his efforts for us to achieve this Super Six dream. He has been up and down to ensure everything is put in place".
"Also, I want to specially thanked our amiable Commissioner for Youth & Sports Hon. Monday Anyebe for his unrelenting supports towards Confluence Queens. Ever since he assumed office, he has been very close to the team and giving every necessary supports to ensure we are okay".
"He made history by following us to an away match, this has never happened since I joined Confluence Queens, that alone is a good motivation to us and gives us hope ahead of the Super Six".

Confluence Queens will battle the likes of Rivers Angels, Nasarawa Amazons, Edo Queens, Bayelsa Queens, and Heartland Queens for this year's NWFL title
