Villarreal have stepped up preparations for their UEFA Champions League semifinal first leg clash against Liverpool at Anfield, with another training session on Saturday.
Samuel Chukwueze is in contention to be included in the matchday squad as he was among the players spotted training with the Yellow Submarine today.
The Nigeria international is very much in the plans of manager Unai Emery for a spot in the starting lineup for the trip to Anfield after his crucial late goal ensured that the Spanish side saw off Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals.
With Gerard Moreno all but ruled out of Wednesday's clash due to a hamstring complaint, it is likely to give Chukwueze a boost in terms of getting minutes.
Meanwhile, the official website of Villarreal reported on Friday that the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport has declared the match that Villarreal will play against Liverpool at the Estadio de la Cerámica on May 3rd as a high-risk game.
Following the instructions of the authorities, the club have put measures in place to stop fans from both sides from mixing, and to preserve security.
Chukwueze has been involved in seven of the last eight games played by Unai Emery's side in the Champions League.
