Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has tasked w and his defenders to step up to the challenge they will face when they host Chelsea at the Amex stadium on Sunday.

Balogun is expected to keep his place in the starting line up for the showdown, and Hughton demands more as he challenges his players to be involved in the team’s defensive unit and and as individual fighters.

Balogun has made five appearances this season for Brighton and Hove Albion.

“I thought Leon [Balogun] did very well last weekend against two very physical strikers,” Hughton said during his press conference on Friday morning.

“You have to be part of a good defensive unit as well as standing up to the challenge individually on Sunday.”

“We know we’ll have to defend very well – but we have to be in the game ourselves too.”

“Our level of performance at the moment is good – I thought we were unfortunate not to get anything from last weekend.”

“That’s important because we have some tough matches coming up – you have to be in those games.”

Hughton added: “We know we have to start well on Sunday. Chelsea reminded us of the levels of this league last season.”
