Nigeria players in Spain and South Africa had some beautiful moments to savour as they and their football clubs won cup finals on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

In Spain, Rasheedat Ajibade and Atletico De Madrid Femenino emerged champions of the 2023 Spanish Copa de la Reina title.

Atletico triumphed in the Madrid derby via an entertaining penalty shoot out after 90 minutes and extra time encounters ended 2-2.

Comeback goals Lucia Moral and Estefania Banini late in the second half cancelled first half goals by Real Madrid's Toletti and Ivana Andres Sanz before the tie went into extra time.

It is Ajibade's second title since joining the Las Colchoneras in 2021 after they won the Supercopa de Espana in the 2020–2021 season.

In South Africa, Nigerian international Olisa Ndah won his second trophy with Orlando Pirates after his team came from a goal down to win the Nedbank Cup.

The ex Akwa United watched from the stands as his teammates saw off Sekhukhune United 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday.

Sibusiso Vilakazi had scored for Sekhukhune in the 12th minute, but skipper, Tapelo Xoki stepped up to take the spot kick, and he made no mistake as he sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 1-1 at the dead of half time.

Dzvukamanja scored the winner after directing Saleng’s cross from the left into the net at the dead of the second half.

Ndah has now won three trophies after emerging MTN Super 8 champion with Orlando Pirates in 2022 and Nigeria Premier Football League champion with Akwa United in 2021.
