There are four matches on tap on Wednesday evening as the US Open Cup sees a couple of all-MLS clashes and two USL clubs involved.

Neither Saint Louis FC nor New Mexico United from the USL have easy match-ups, as they take on Atlanta United and Minnesota United respectively.

Saint Louis battled through the early rounds of the competition and has so far beaten two MLS teams, each by a single goal.

The Chicago Fire fell 2-1 in the fourth round, before Saint Louis edged FC Cincinnati in the fifth round.

Being matched with the expansion franchise was a stroke of luck for Saint Louis, who took full advantage.

New Mexico United also had a favorable schedule when matched against the struggling Colorado Rapids in the fourth round.

The USL side won through on penalties after a dramatic equalizer late in stoppage time from Kevaughn Frater.

Much more impressive from New Mexico was their victory over FC Dallas in the fifth round, a 2-1 triumph that may have been the best result of the competition this year.

New Mexico is matched up with a Minnesota United side that has won five straight in all competitions to move up to fourth in the Western Conference of MLS.

Moreover, Minnesota, 25/1 to win the MLS Cup, showed a ruthless side in hammering FC Cincinnati 7-1 in late June.

The other two games see Orlando City take on New York City, while LAFC against the Portland Timbers could be the most entertaining tie of the round.
