Kano Pillars have announced the appointment of Mohammed Baba Ganaru as acting head coach/technical adviser of the club, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The news comes after the suspension of Coach Ogenyi Evans following poor run of results in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Baba Ganaru, a former Lobi Stars and Gombe United Coach was the former Coach of the Sai Masu Gida side who won the NPFL with them.

The appointment of the former Akwa United Coach takes immediate effect.

Club legend and assistant coach, Gambo Muhammad and goalkeeper trainer Suleiman Shuaibu will take charge in the interim with Coach Garzali Muhammad (Kusa) from Junior Pillars joining in an ad-hoc role.

The news comes in the wake of Kano Pillars' 1-2 loss to Barau FC in close door game at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.

It has not been the best of start for Evans and his crew to the 2025/26 NPFL season after managing two wins, two draws and four losses in eight games.

The Nigeria Premier Football League has come hard on Kano Pillars Football Club following the unruly behaviour of fans after their game against Shooting Stars in Kano, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The unfortunate situation was triggered by Shooting Stars Sports Club's's equalizer at the death of the match,, which resulted in a 1-1 result at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.

The League Organisers found the former champions guilty of not providing adequate securit,y, which led to fans gaining entrance into the pitch and causing harm to away team players, referees, and bringing the game into disrepute.

The Sai Masu Gida side has been hit with varying sanctions to the tune of 9.5 million naira, a minimum of a ten-match Stadium ban with banishment to Katsina, three points and three goals deduction from accumulated points.

"The club have been fined N1m each for failing to provide adequate & effective security; throwing dangerous objects onto the pitch; failing to ensure proper conduct of their supporters & misconduct capable of bringing the game to disrepute, totalling N4m."

"A further fine of N2m is placed on the club for assault on the players of the away team & match officials.

As compensatory cost for treatment & damages on players of Shooting Stars & the match officials, Kano Pillars have also been fined N2m.

Kano Pillars will also pay a fine of N1.5m as compensatory damages of N250,000 each to the match officials."

The club has been further directed to produce the perpetrators of the ugly incident on Sunday & show proof of prosecution as well as put in place an effective matchday security arrangement which must be submitted to NPFL within 7 days of this notice.

Kano Pillars have within 48 hours to submit to this summary jurisdiction or appeal.

Kano Pillars have released a statement addressing the fans' trouble that happened in their match day 8 Nigeria Premier Football League encounter against Shooting Stars, NigeriaSoccernet.com reports

Fans were reported to have started trouble after the final whistle of the game at the Sani Abacha Stadium that ended 1-1.

After Mustapha Jibrin's goal in the 9th minute, the hosts seemed to be heading for victory before Adams Mustapha's equalizer for the Oluyole Warriors on 90+4 minutes.

Chaos erupted afterwards as irate Kano Pillars FC fans stormed the pitch, the referee was attacked and had to flee for safety, while 3SC players were also targeted. Tear gas had to be fired to restore order.

The Sai Masu Gida side has released a statement acknowledging unruly behavior from some of their fans, thanking security operatives for coming to avert any casualties.

"Immediately after the final whistle, a few misguided persons attempted to cause disorder within the stadium premises. However, thanks to the swift intervention of our stewards and security agencies, the situation was promptly brought under control."

The statement confirmed the players and officials left unhurt and that many of the perpetrators of the act "were arrested and handed over to the security agencies for further investigation and prosecution."

The former champions say they will fully cooperate with the authorities to ensure that any individual found culpable faces the full wrath of the law.

The statement ended with thanks to the fans for their support, as the club urged the fans to remain law-abiding.

This announcement was made by the Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, during a meeting at his office on Monday, in the presence of board members and the club's captain, Rabiu Ali.

Commissioner Kwankwaso confirmed that the disbursement of the funds would commence shortly, as the state government has approved the payments.

In a club statement via the club's social media handle on Tuesday stated that Coach of the club, Kabiru Dogo has named Musa AbdulAfeez Oloro.

Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has approved the appointment of a Caretaker Committee for the state owned club, Kano Pillars, Nigeriasoccernet.com has gathered.

The news was made known by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Abba Anwar via a press release on Friday.

The release made known that the constitution and the work of the committee start immediately.

The Committee has Kabiru Baita, Special Adviser to the Governor on Sports, as Chairman, with three members.

The committee will see to the following:

NNL side, Kano  Pillars Football Club has recruited 22 new players to strengthen its team ahead of the 2022–2023 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

This is contained in a statement issued by the club’s media officer, Malam Idris Malikawa, on Wednesday in Kano.

According to him, the 22 new players will join the 18 Kano Pillars players the club retained from the 2021–2022 season.

“We had an open screening that ended recently, led by coach Evans Ogenyi, and from that, we were able to get five young players from the feeder team.”

”We had 17 players from various clubs across the country to add to the 18 retained from the team from the past season.

“With this, I can state clearly that we will present a formidable team to compete favourably when the season starts,” Malikawa said.

Bright Osayi-Samuel may just be joining Victor Osimhen at Napoli from Fenerbache according to multiple reports.

Kano Pillars Football club have appointed Coach Evans Ogenyi as the club's technical adviser ahead of the approved of the forthcoming 2022/2023 NNL season.

Pillars unveiled Ogenyi alongside other members of the team at Kano State Sports Commission in a ceremony conducted by the Acting Chairman of the club Dr. Ibrahim Galadima.

According to a press release from the club's media, Evans Ogenyi was appointed as Technical Adviser, Ibrahim A. Musa as Chief Coach, Ahmad Garba Yaro Yaro Coach, Gambo Muhammad Assistant Coach and Abbas Auwalu as Goalkeeper Trainer.

Galadima said out of 31 applicants received 14 were shortlisted five from foreign countries include one Mexico, two from Ghana, one from Cote d Ivoire and Togo.

Nigeria football league second division club, Kano Pillars are faced with a possible lawsuit over inappropriate termination of ex-player Bassey Akpan contract.

Akpan (Goalkeeper) took legal actions against his former employers over what he termed 'unlawful termination of his contract without just cause'.

This was revealed through a letter gotten by Nigeriasooccernet.com through the representative of the player, Amobi Ezeaku dated 31st October, 2022.

"Be notified that failure to comply with this demand within seven days from the date of receipt of this letter would be strictly interpreted to mean your readiness to defend the propriety of your action and would active the legal options at our disposal in like with the FIFA Regulations without further recourse to you," The letter read in part.

It states the letter has been sent to other relevant authorities and will be tendered as evidence if the demand is to complied with.

One time league champions of the NPFL Kano Pillars in their restructuring process, have sought the services of coaches or technical crew who are interested in handling the coaching job at the club.

A Press release said "Kano Pillars have requested interested and qualified coaches who wants to work in the technical crew of the club in the forthcoming 2022/2023 football season to submit their application to the club"

According to the Media Officer of the club Lurwanu Idris Malikawa this followed the expiration of the club's Technical Crew contract after the just concluded 2021/2022 season.
