Former Nigeria international striker Chinedu Obasi scored the lone goal for Bolton Wanderers U23s to hand them a 1-0 win over their Burnley counterparts in a youth league game.
Obasi is on trial with the Championship side, few years after failing to bag a deal after trials at Sunderland, but this time around he has done his chances a whole lot of good with the winner he scored last night.
On as a substitute, it took him few minutes to make his mark with a well taken drive which ended as the lone goal of the game, and also the winner for his team in the game which is a test game to see his level of fitness and abilities.
Last season he has an unhappy spell in China with second division side Shenzhen during the first half of the season before returning back to Sweden where he rejoined AIK and scored five times from the nine games he played.
The 31 year old has had spells with German sides in Hoffenheim ?and Schalke 04, but injuries have slowed him down since same issue lead to his release at Schalke 04 three years ago.
He represented Nigeria at U17, 20 and 23 level b?efore making the step up to the senior national team of Nigeria where he made the squad to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa .
With a total of 16 senior national team caps to his name, Bolton Wanderers will be hoping he proves his self during the trials as they are in need of a proven goals scorer to ease their relegation worries.
