Liverpool are interested in extending Rio Ngumoha’s contract, according to respected transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

The 18-year-old winger’s current deal with the Merseyside club runs until the end of June 2028. However, Liverpool’s management are keen to continue working with the highly rated player and could offer him a new agreement.

Ngumoha has made five appearances in the Premier League this season. The attacking midfielder has not recorded a goal or assist in those matches.

Transfermarkt values the Liverpool player at €50m.

Manchester United are considering a move for Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Ismaila Sarr before the January transfer window, according to Teamtalk.

The 28-year-old Senegal international is viewed by the Red Devils as a player capable of operating either on the wing or through the middle of the attack.

Manchester United are not the only Premier League club monitoring Sarr. Newcastle and Sunderland are also reported to be interested, while the forward has opportunities in Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

Sarr has been with Crystal Palace since August 2024. Transfermarkt assesses his current market value at €45m.

The player’s contract with Crystal Palace runs until the end of June 2029.

Manchester United are considering a move for Bournemouth and France defender Adrien Truffert, according to The i Paper.

The 24-year-old has impressed with his performances for Bournemouth and has earned a return to the France squad as a result. Manchester United have acknowledged that failing to recruit a suitable new left-back was a weakness in their squad-building.

Their leading target for the position is Lewis Hall of Newcastle, but Truffert is also being assessed as a possible option. The France international is valued at 30 million euros.

Truffert’s contract with Bournemouth runs until 2030.

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has responded to former manager Erik ten Hag’s criticism of the club’s leadership.

Ten Hag claimed that the club had failed to honour promises over support and loyalty during his time in charge.

Asked whether Ten Hag’s experience had caused him concern, Carrick, as reported by The Mirror, said there was still a positive working atmosphere within Manchester United.

He added that he did not require any further assurances from the club’s leadership about its support.

Manchester United are considering parting company with Lisandro Martinez at the end of the season as part of plans to reshape their defence, according to the Daily Mail.

The Argentina defender’s contract is due to expire next summer. However, Manchester United could trigger a one-year extension, allowing the club to receive a transfer fee if Martinez leaves rather than losing him without compensation.

Martinez’s position at the club came under scrutiny after he criticised the Manchester United hierarchy, including football director Jason Wilcox, following the Champions League defeat by Atletico in early October.

The defender subsequently apologised and returned to the starting XI for the match against Leeds.

Former Manchester United player Ashley Young believes appointing Antonio Conte as the club’s manager could end in disaster.

Piers Morgan has defended Cristiano Ronaldo after former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag criticised the Portugal forward’s work in training.

In a recent interview, ten Hag discussed what he considered to be Ronaldo’s poor performances during training at the English club. Morgan responded by highlighting the Dutch coach’s own difficult spell in management, describing him as “this useless coach”.

Ten Hag has not worked as a manager since leaving Bayer. The 56-year-old has instead been technical director of Dutch club Twente since February 2026.

Leeds and Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw in the English Premier League at the weekend, but the match was followed by criticism of a home supporter who directed an insult at Alex Ferguson.

Ferguson, the legendary former Manchester United manager, was present at the stadium and appeared in a video that spread on social media.

The Leeds fan can be seen looking towards Ferguson and repeatedly shouting: “Fergie! Fergie! Fergie!” When Ferguson looked up in the supporter’s direction, the man added: “You’re a scoundrel!”

Eberechi Eze is unhappy with his current position at Arsenal, according to a report published by Teamtalk.

The 28-year-old England midfielder is understood to be disappointed by his status as a squad player under manager Mikel Arteta.

Arteta does not appear convinced by Eze as an option in the number 10 position and is also uncertain about using him on the left side of the attack. That has left Eze frustrated by his lack of regular involvement in the London club’s team.
