Nigeria Olympic team are now likely to pull out of next month’s Toulon Football Festival because the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are too broke to meet up the 80,000 Euros needed for the team to feature in the tournament in the South of France.

“It looks very likely Nigeria will pull out of the Toulon tournament because the NFF cannot afford the 80,000 Euros needed for the team’s participation,” a top official informed AfricanFootball.com

“It will be a massive setback in the team’s preparation for the Olympics because several of the teams for Rio will finalise their build-up at this competition.”

Some of the qualifiers for the Rio Olympics slated for the Toulon Festival include Nigeria’s Group B foes Colombia and Japan as well as Argentina and South Africa.

Nigeria made their Toulon Festival debut in 2013, when the Flying Eagles used the invitational tournament to prepare for the U20 World Cup in Turkey.
