CAFCL: Garando Tekena confident of Rangers win against Zilimadjou FC

Rangers International mercury midfielder, Garando Tekena is optimistic of his side progressing to the next round of the CAF Champions League preliminary round against Zilimadjou FC when they play on Friday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Tekena in a chat with this medium spoke of his the Flying Antelopes chances in the second leg of the game after their 1-0 win in the first leg.

The former Bayelsa United player who played his first competitive game for the Nigeria Premier Football League reigning champions expressed delight over his debut.

"Feels good, he said.  "The atmosphere was nice, the support from our fans and most importantly the victory."

He stated that Rangers International needed to win the first leg which they did, but he expects the second leg to be tougher. He agrees that the first leg would have been better, but the team will take the advantage to the second leg.

"That was what we really wanted. The 3 points. We know it's not over yet. So we'll try to give everything on Friday"

"I think it could have been better. We should have scored more. Maybe 2 or 3 goals, but that's football. But we will take the 1-0 into the second leg."

Tekena looks forward to a better game in the second leg with optimism to advance to the second round of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.

"I know we can do better and we will. Zilimadjou FC is a good team, no disrespect to them, but we're preparing for the second leg and we're confident we can get a good result"

Rangers International will play host to the Comoros Champions at the Godswil Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Friday.
