CAFCC Round-2 Review: Enyimba's fightback, big goal victories take center stage

The TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup resumed on Sunday with a series of exciting matches across the continent, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

As the competition heats up, teams are battling to secure their place in the knockout stages and ultimately claim the prestigious title currently held by Zamalek SC.

The competition continued to deliver exciting matches, with matchday two providing thrilling moments and crucial results that shaped the race for qualification to the knockout rounds most notably Enyimba's fight back.

One of the most anticipated matches of the day was between defending champions Zamalek and former African champions Enyimba. The game, played in Uyo, Nigeria, ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw. Zamalek took a commanding 2-0 lead in the first half, thanks to goals from Seifeddine Jaziri and Omar Faraj.

However, Enyimba staged a remarkable comeback, equalizing through Ufere Chukwu and Ifeanyi Ihemekwele.

Group A

CS Constantine solidified their position at the top of Group A with a 2-1 victory over Simba SC. Mohammed Hussein's early goal for Simba was countered by an own goal from Abdulrazack Hamza and a late strike from Brahim Dib. Bravos do Maquis secured their first win in the group, defeating CS Sfaxien 3-2 in a high-scoring encounter.

Group B

RS Berkane maintained their perfect start in Group B, defeating Stellenbosch 3-1. Youssef Zghoudi's brace and Reda Hajji's goal secured the victory for Berkane. In another Group B match, Stade Malien and Desportivo Lunda-Sul played out a 1-1 draw.

Group C

USM Alger held onto the top spot in Group C with a goalless draw against Jaraaf. In another Group C match, Orapa United and ASEC Mimosas played out a 0-0 stalemate.

Group D

Black Bulls Maputo staged a dramatic comeback to secure a 1-1 draw against Al Masry. Nené scored a stoppage-time equalizer for the home side after Mido Gaber had given Al Masry the lead. In another Group D match, defending champions Zamalek were held to a 2-2 draw by Enyimba. Zamalek took a 2-0 lead, but Enyimba fought back to secure a point.

The draw leaves Zamalek at the top of Group D with four points, while Enyimba move up to third with their first point of the group stage.
