CAF bans Mauritian referee Seechurn Rajindrapasard for six months and demoted

Mauritian referee Seechurn Rajindrapasard has been handed a six-month ban and delisted from the CAF “A” Elite Referees panel for his shameful performance in the quarter-final match between Equatorial Guinea and Tunisia.

Rajindrapasard awarded a dubious penalty in stoppage time which allowed the hosts to equalize and go on to win 2-1 in Bata.

CAF Referees Committee took the decision at its extraordinary meeting held at the CAF headquarters In Bata on the 2 February, 2015.

The Referees Committee noted with regret the poor performance of the referee during the match, including an unacceptable failure to maintain calm and ensure proper control of the players during the match.
