A proper German international winger, though not having made into Euro 2020 squad list, 25-year old frontline player Luca Waldschmidt, purchased by Benfica - from SC Freiburg, on a 15 million euros transfer fee - exactly a year ago, is wanted by Wolfsburg for a Bundesliga move back. Currently on a deal with Portuguese giants until June 2025, Eintracht Frankfurt alumni, playing for Hamburg back in 2016/17 and 2017/18, might be indeed tempted to hit his home country back, also in order to get more exposure in the attempt to get named for next year's World Cup edition.

While a quite unviable 88 million euros exit clause is set upon him, Waldschmidt, throughout his club pro career, has so far capped 156 times overall, scoring 32 goals, besides serving a big deal of pivotal passes and assists. The 1996-born is also suitable as a second striker, as well as an attacking midfielder.
