Maxim Leitsch's comeback is taking even more time than initially hoped. According to the WAZ, the VfL Bochum plan provides that the central defender will not return until the next international break. As it is said, he could then be back on the pitch in a test match, provided everything goes well.
For coach Thomas Reis, of course, this means that he will have to do without his most important defender in the central defense for a few more weeks. The next international matches will only take place after the 11th matchday. The first game that Leitsch would then be eligible for would be against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on November 20th.
If this schedule turns out to be correct, Leitsch will be missing his team in the next four Bundesliga games. If you add the second round of the DFB Cup, there are a total of five matches.
The 23-year-old has been struggling with muscular problems in his thigh for around seven weeks. Team training is out of the question at the moment. Instead, he works individually on the comeback.
