Bilic says Modric can continue serving Croatia while playing for Milan

Slaven Bilic believes Luka Modric’s continued involvement with Milan is helping the midfielder maintain the level of fitness and match sharpness required to contribute to Croatia.

The Croatia manager indicated that Modric’s club appearances are important in keeping him ready for international football.

“As long as he plays for Milan, he will play for the national team,” Bilic said.

Modric is currently 40 years old.
