Franck Ribery has suffered knee ligament damage and faces a spell on the sidelines, Bayern Munich have confirmed.

Ribery was forced out of Bayern's 2-2 draw against Hertha Berlin at the weekend with a leg injury.

Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic was quoted as saying that the injury "doesn't look good."

And writing on their official Twitter feed on Monday, Bayern said: "Franck Ribery has suffered an LCL [lateral collateral ligament] tear in his left knee. Get well soon, Franck!"
