Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Champions, Bayelsa Queens on Tuesday emerged as winners of the 2023 Bayelsa State FA Cup following a 6-0 victory over Golden Sun Sports Club.
Alice Sarpong opened the scoring for the Prosperity Girls at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenegoa before Nigeria U-20 player, Etim Edidiong doubled the lead for the Yenegoa-based side and Blessing Ilivieda made it 3-0.
Former Hapoel Beer Sheva forward, Charity Reuben converted Bayelsa Queens’ fourth goal before newly signing Damilola Koku added the fifth while former DreamStar FC Ladies captain, Salisu Anuoluwapo completed the rout.
Bayelsa Queens and Golden Sun Sports Club will represent Bayelsa State at the 2023 Federation Cup.
The NWFL Premiership champions will shift focus on the next league encounter with Heartland Queens.
The game will take place on March 29, 2023, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Imo State.
