Bassey Joins Al Masry On Three-And Half Year Deal From Akwa United

Ezekiel Bassey has signed a three and half year deal with Egyptian top division side, Al Masry from NPFL side, Akwa United, the club announced on Monday.

Bassey spent six months on loan from Enyimba with the B team of Barcelona

He also had a short loan spell at Iranian top league side Paykan before he joined Akwa United following the expiration of his deal with Enyimba

“The board of directors of the Egyptian club headed by Mr. Samir Halabia has completed the contract with Nigerian international striker Ezekiel Joseph Bassey for a three-and-a-half-year contract starting from the current transfer window,” a statement on Al Masry’s official website almasryclub.com reads.

Al Masry are currently 14th in the Egyptian log with 19 points from 17 matches played so far.

The 22-year-old striker became the second Nigeria Professional Football League star to team up with an Egyptian team after Tosin Omoyele who also signed for pitch Nogoom FC.

Al Masry also announced the arrival of Abdul Rahman Zain from Egyptian Second Division club Beni Suef SC on a four and half year deal.
