The former Gers midfielder who replaced Philip Clement admitted that although the club needs another high profile striker, he believes that the Nigerian forward can turn out to be exactly a top finisher with the qualities that he has.

As quoted from Rangers review, he stated; “Listen, he’s scored two goals in two games, 22 goals last year and I don’t think you can get rid of him. I know Rangers still need in my eyes another number nine to come in for competition, but I like the big man’s attitude, sometimes he lacks that bit of quality, but if he had that quality he’d be playing somewhere else in a different league.”

Cyriel Dessers who has 18 goals and six assists in 40 appearances this season would be hoping to hit the ground running under the new coach as they travel away to Kilmarnock next.
