Barcelona working on new Gerard Martin contract, says report

Barcelona are working on a new contract for defender Gerard Martin, according to insider Matteo Moretto.

The Catalan club recently agreed a fresh deal with promising full-back Xavi Espart, who has broken into the first-team squad this season. Gerard Martin is now reportedly next in line for an extension, with negotiations already under way.

Head coach Hansi Flick has full confidence in the 24-year-old Spaniard.

Martin’s current contract with Barcelona runs until the middle of 2028. He has made six appearances for the club during the current campaign.
