As reported by As.com, Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, underwent a surgical procedure on Wednesday to repair a tendon in his knee, the same one he had an operation on last summer and that has been bothering the German international for quite some time. The procedure was carried out by specialist Hakan Alfredson in Sweden.

Allegedly, Ter Stegen will now miss at least two months, but should be ready to join his teammates before next season starts. He had already missed the start of this season due to the same operation in August 2020, and his knee troubles returned in 2021, as he saw his performances affected by them. In a Twitter statement on Thursday, he thanked his followers and assured his fans that "Now the focus is on my recovery".
