Barcelona set 102-year record with 10th consecutive win

Barcelona began their campaign with 10 consecutive victories for the first time in 102 years after beating Galatasaray 4-1 away in the Champions League.

The result extended the Spanish champions’ winning run from the start of the season. According to journalist MisterChip, Barcelona had not previously opened a campaign with 10 straight wins in all competitions for more than a century.

Hans-Dieter Flick’s side secured victory in Turkey through goals from Joao Cancelo, Fermin Lopez, Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi.

Barcelona currently lead La Liga with 24 points from eight matches. Their next fixture is away to Real Betis on Saturday.
