From a hotel room in Lisbon, where he is preparing for Barcelona's Champions League clash with Sporting on Wednesday, Gerard Pique took part in a Harvard University class, in which he discussed how his club has successfully managed its local roots while achieving global expansion.

Earlier this year, Pique attended in person at the school's Boston campus to take The Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports course, taught by HBS Professor Anita Elberse. If you think that title sounds familiar, that's because it is known for its famous participants, one of whom was Sir Alex Ferguson, once Pique's manager at Manchester United.
