Balogun Benched In Brighton Away Defeat To Cardiff City

Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun, was benched in Brighton & Hove Albion’s 2-1 away defeat to Cardiff City in their English Premier League league clash at the Cardiff City Stadium, on Saturday.

Balogun who joined the Seagulls on a free contract this summer following the expiration of his contract with German club, FSV Mainz has made two league appearances for the club this season.

He has failed to dislodge the centre-back pairing of Sean Duffy and Lewis Dunk with his last appearance coming in the 1-0 away defeat to Liverpool in September.

 

Dunk opened scoring for the visitors in the sixth minute of the encounter.

The hosts rallied back and got their equaliser in the 28th minute through Callum Paterson.

 

Brighton were reduced to 10-men when Dale Stephens was sent off in the 34th minute.

 

Ivorian centre-back, Sol Bamba scored the winning goal for the home team on the dot of full time.
