Brothers Andre and Jordan Ayew have been named in the ten-man shortlist of nominees for the prestigious Marc-Vivien Foé prize.
Jordan, who strikes for struggling side Lorient, has been nominated for the first time in his career after netting nine goals in 25 matches.
His elder brother has earned his second nomination since 2012 after scoring seven goals in 22 appearances this term.
The duo face stiff competition from Lille and Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, Nabil Dirar (Monaco, Morocco), Max-Alain Gradel (Saint-Etienne, Ivory Coast), Idrissa Gueye (Lille, Senegal) and Aissa Mandi (Reims, Algeria).
The Marc-Vivien Foé award is meant to honour the best African player in the French Ligue 1.
It is voted for by sport journalists selected by French media RFI and television channel France 24.
This annual award was initiated in 2009 as a mark of respect to Foé, the Cameroon international footballer, who collapsed and died on June 26, 2003, during a FIFA Confederations Cup game between Cameroon and Colombia.
