Atlético reject Chelsea's €40m bid for Nigeria-eligible forward

Spanish big side, Atlético Madrid have rejected Chelsea latest bid for Samuel Omorodion, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathers.

According to Italian transfer expert, Romano fabrizio, the English side on Tuesday submitted a formal bid of around €30m plus add-ons up to €40m package for the Nigeria-eligible forward.

Chelsea keep considering Omorodion and Jhon Durán as options for new striker, however, Atlético Madrid insist on their plan to keep Samuel Omorodion.

Samuel "Samu" Omorodion Aghehowa (born 5 May 2004), joined Atlético Madrid On 21 August 2023 from Granada after attracting interest from different clubs across Europe. He was loaned to Deportivo Alavés five days later. He became the top scorer for his club in La Liga by scoring 8 goals.

In April 2023, Omorodion received his first call-up to the Spain under-19 national team. In July of the same year, he took part in the 2023 UEFA European Under-19 Championship in Malta, where the Rojita lost to eventual champions Italy in the semi-finals.
