Shanghai SIPG were without Asamoah Gyan as Atletico Madrid crashed the Chinese club 3-0 in a friendly match Tuesday.

A brace from Antoine Griezemann in the early minutes of the game put the Spanish side well on its way to the comprehensive win in the game played in Shanghai.

Fernando Torres scored the other as Diego Simeone’s side run rout.

Shanghai SIPG chose to field a weaker team which included the absence of their lead Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan for the exhibition game.

Sven-Goran Eriksson’s side are top of the Chinese top flight and were looking to save the limbs of their leading performers for the title run in.

Ghanaian youngster Thomas Partey however came on later in the game for Atletico.

The game in Shanghai marked the end of the Asian tour of the Spanish club as they return to their base to conclude their pre-season preparations ahead of the start of the new season.
