Ghana and AshGold goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has revealed his delight in guiding AshGold to their first league title in 19 years and says he is back to his best.

Dauda returned to the First Capital Plus Premier League after a disappointing spell with PSL giants Orlando Pirates and latter Chippa United.

The frustrating stint in the Rainbow nation has seen him lose his number one spot in the Black Stars for some time now, with lack of playing time threatening to wreck his career.

But after returning to the First Capital Plus Premier League and playing a key role in AshGold’s title triumph Dauda says he is back to the level that made him the undisputed number one goalkeeper in the country.

“I had to decide between coming back or staying in South Africa and struggling and the decision for me was simple I was coming home.”

“It was not an easy decision but I guess in the end I have just made the right call.”

“I feel I am back to level I have always wanted and I feel my first touch and very confident of the next touch i make.”

Dauda was Ghana’s first choice in Ghana’s chaotic world cup in Brazil but has since been second call to Razak Braimah.
