Arokoyo Relishes Reunion With EX-Flying Eagles Mate Omeruo

Gazientepspor of Turkey defender Gbenga Arokoyo has spoken of his delight to reunite with former U20 teammate Kenneth Omeruo in the Super Eagles.

Arokoyo and Omeruo were two of the 26 players called up by Nigeria interim coach Salisu Yusuf for two friendly matches against Mali and Luxembourg in France and Luxembourg respectively, making it the first time both players will be in the Nigeria set-up since 2011, when they both played for the U20’s.

“Of course we have played together before in the U20’s and he's a very good player. I really look forward to our reunion in the Super Eagles,” Arokoyo told AfricanFootball.com

Incidentally, both central defenders play in the Turkish top-flight league - Omeruo is with Kasimpasa on loan from Chelsea, while Arokoyo features for Gazientepspor, who he joined from Swedish club Mjallby in 2014.
