Another stroll for Indonesia, Vietnam kickoff Asean Futsal Championship in style

Ho Chi Minh City: Indonesia continued their fine form in the 2017 ASEAN Futsal Championship with a 9-0 win over Brunei while Vietnam beat Philippines 24-0 in Group A action at the Phu Tho Stadium on Friday.

The tournament also serves as a qualifier for the AFC Futsal Championship 2018.

Ardiansyah made it look easy when he scored Indonesia's first goal inside three minutes, picking out the Brunei keeper with a venomous shot from the left flank.

Brunei tried to contain Indonesia but were unsuccessful as they conceded their second four minutes later.

Randy Satria Mushar's through pass found Guntur Sulistyo Ariwibowo who back-heeled from close range.

?Indonesia increased their lead after 10 minutes of play through Johanis Dominggus Mustamu and Saud picked up his second of the match when he found space on the left a minute later.

Bambang Bayu Saptaji got on the scoresheet in the 15th minute to put Indonesia 5-0 up at halftime.

Indonesia, who beat Philippines 21-0 in their opening match, scored four more goals after the break as they picked through the Brunei defence with ease.

Their goals came from Saptaji (27th), Saud (30th), Mohammad Iqbal (36th), and Alexander Benhard Larawo (40th).

Tran Thai Huy inspired Vietnam to victory against a wounded Philippines, as the Golden Star kickstarted their qualifying campaign in style.

The man-of-the-match, together with Vu Quoc Hung, scored four goals, while Pham Duc Hoa and Phung Trong Luan picked up hat-tricks in a match that was lopsided from the start.

The Philippines, who lost 21-0 to Indonesia in their opening match on Thursday, were outmuscled in every department and trailed 10-0 at the end of the first half. 

Miguel Rodrigo's side kicked up a gear after the break, scoring almost every minute as they raced to 24 with ease - adding more salt to a Philippines side who have now conceded 45 goals in the tournament.
