Angry 2014 World Cup Commissioner Moses Foh-Amoaning warns journalists against commentaries on findings
A member of Ghana's 2014 World Cup Commission, Moses Foh-Amoaning has warned of serious consequences for journalists who offer 'destructive' criticism against their findings.
The well-respected lawyer is angry with attempts to run down their work after the government issued a white paper on their findings last week.
There have been many commentaries on the report with majority opinion skewing towards criticizing the work of the three-man panel.
Critics have accused the commission of targeting the Ghana FA while leaving out the big fishes in the scandalous episode which rocked the West African country.
And a member of the three-panel commission, Moses Foh-Amoaning has warned journalists against spewing negativity against their work.
"Most of these people who criticize and question our competence do not even qualify to be my students," he charged on Accra-based Atkina FM
"They just go on the radio and talk about things they know nothing about.
"I am not too sure they have seen the full report yet many are making concluding and categorical statements to condemn us.
"Probably they don't know the power that we wield and at the appropriate time, the law will deal with them. We have recording of all that they have been saying and we shall deal with it at the right time.
"Not only will the journalists be in trouble but their radio station owners will also be held liable."
On August 4, 2014, government commissioned a three- man Committee, chaired by Justice Senyo Dzamefe, following the negative fallout from the Black Star campaign in the 2014 Brazil World Cup competition.
Established by Constitutional Instrument C.I 82 with CI 65 giving it the guidelines to operate, the Commission had Moses Foh Amoaning, a private Legal Practitioner and Kofi Anokye Owusu Darko, a Football enthusiast as the other members.
The terms of reference included; the preparations of the Black Stars team before the games, management of the team, financing of activities leading to the competition, treatment of the funds generated and to make recommendations based on the findings.
However, opinions have been divided on the report in a widely debated issue in the local media.
