American hip-hop superstar Wyclef Jean has hailed Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan's dramatic injury time strike that saw the Black Stars defeat Algeria 1-0 at the African Cup of Nations to revive the chances of the West African side.

Gyan, who missed Ghana's opening game against Senegal having contracted malaria, was the Black Stars' hero with an injury-time winner that erupted the stadium and football fans across Africa thanks to the beautiful goal.

The goal also caught the attention of Haitian-born Grammy award winning musician, Wyclef who has praised the Black Stars captain for his breathtaking goal against the side rated as the best side in Africa.

Wyclef jumpred straight to Twitter after the game to express his delight over the goal scored by Ghana who is regarded as one of Africa's greatest footballers.

“The #GHA #BlackStars just stunned #Algeria the captain did it @ASAMOAH_GYAN3 Boom sorry @NacimCity #CAF #Clefication,” he tweeted.

The Black Stars of Ghana won the match through a decisive last-minute strike by the captain of the team, Asamoah Gyan.

Ghana beat the Algerians, who are Africa’s number one ranked team, in the second Group C cliffhanger in Mongomo Friday.

Ghana will now face South Africa in the last Group C match on Monday for a place in the Quarter-Finals of the tournament being hosted by Equatorial Guinea.
