The 25-year-old shot-stopper left Ethiopian side Fasil Ketema FC just four months after joining the club. Obasogie initially signed a two-year deal with the Ethiopian Premier League outfit last September but decided to move on in search of new opportunities.

Obasogie first rose to prominence while playing for Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) team Bendel Insurance. He was instrumental in the club’s victorious 2023 Nigeria Federation Cup campaign. During his standout 2023 season, he set an NPFL record with 18 clean sheets, earning widespread recognition for his goalkeeping abilities.

The goalkeeper’s stellar performances have not gone unnoticed, as he has been a regular invitee to Nigeria's senior national team, the Super Eagles, in recent months.

By joining Singida Black Stars, Obasogie embarks on a new journey in Tanzanian football. The move represents an opportunity for him to bring his talent and experience to the East African league while continuing to enhance his profile on the continental stage.
